Shameless (United States) conta a história dos Gallaghers, uma família da classe operária de Chicago que precisam lidar com a crise económica americana: Macy é um alcoólico, pai de seis filhos, casado com uma mulher que o trocou por outra mulher. A união de todos depende da filha Fiona, rapariga de 18 anos que se divide entre cuidar dos 5 irmãos e irmãs, tentar manter o pai sóbrio e ainda descobrir uma forma de seguir o seu próprio caminho.
